In the Sioux language, "tipi" means "place to live". The Indians used tanned buffalo hides and sewed them together to provide shelter from the elements. They cleverly chose the conical shape of the tipi to keep warm when it's cold and to provide shelter when it's hot. Today, the buffalo hide has been replaced by cotton canvas, but the feeling of well-being inside has been preserved.

The park's 4 tipis are set up in an Indian camp, not far from the western wagon. These typical lodgings can accommodate 6 people, each with 1 double bed, 2 single beds and 2 folding beds. You'll discover the rich Amerindian culture and graceful spirituality for which the Redskins are renowned. You'll be totally immersed in another era through this authentic tepee with its meticulous details.
