In a group of up to 8 people aboard our Mercedes Van, discover the Côte des Blancs Grand Cru and the famous village and vineyard of Hautvillers in the historic Coteaux de la Champagne listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site near Epernay, visit an independent winemaking family and taste 3 Grand Cru/Premier Cru Champagnes.

Visit an independent winegrower/producer family for several generations, with an explanation of the champagne-making process, a tour of the press, the vat room and the cellar, and taste several of their Grand Cru/Premier Cru Champagnes. Champagne tastings include commentary and tasting tips.

During your tour, you’ll also taste the 3 famous Champagne spirits. The most famous, Ratafia, has been produced in Champagne since the 13th century. It is rare (15 million bottles/year), little known by tourists, but of very high quality. It is often drunk as an aperitif, digestif or with certain dishes. You’ll have the opportunity to discover it and 2 other spirits: Fine de la Marne and Marc de Champagne, produced by the famous Goyard Distillery in Aÿ, the oldest in Champagne, founded in 1911.

We’ll also take a guided tour of the famous Avenue de Champagne in Epernay, the Capital of Champagne, where you’ll find the superb estates and production buildings of the Champagne Houses Moët & Chandon, Perrier Jouët, Pol Roger, etc.

Our discovery tour of the Côte des Blancs takes us past Château de Saran, the prestigious property of the LVMH group (Dom Pérignon, Veuve Clicquot…) and the production site of Champagne Moët et Chandon.

In the famous village of Hautvillers, known as « the cradle of Champagne », we’ll also thank Dom Pérignon at his tomb during a visit to the church where he served as a monk for decades. We’ll tell you his story and that of Champagne, and you’ll finally find out whether or not he was the inventor of Champagne!

We’ll also be sure to stop and admire one of the finest panoramic views of the Marne Valley from the hillsides listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, planted mainly with Pinot Noir grapes, exactly where Dom Pérignon carried out all his experiments. It’s the ideal spot in the heart of the vineyards to take unforgettable photos of you and this breathtaking landscape. It’s also where we’ll explain how the vines work and talk about sustainable viticulture.
