Mushrooms – Nature rendezvous at the Ecomusée d’Alsace
Ready for a 100% nature workshop? The Écomusée d’Alsace awaits you for a discovery activity on the world of Mushrooms, as part of the nature events on offer this summer. Let yourself be surprised by these astonishing species that emerge from the earth after the rain, and learn how to observe and identify them!
Known not only for its collection of buildings and everyday objects, France’s largest open-air museum is located in an Alsatian village in the eco-transition commune of Ungersheim. Designed at the beginning of the 20th century, the site is established on a wasteland of the Potash Mines. It bears witness to the traditional skills and craftsmanship of Alsatian culture.
The site’s landscaped areas have contributed to the preservation of nature and its biodiversity. The site is made up of a wide variety of habitats, including villages, fields, forests, ponds and rivers. With a total of 5,000 species listed, this biodiversity includes the museum’s wild and domestic species.
This fun and enriching activity on the unsuspected world of mushrooms, put forward by the museum’s corporation of volunteer naturalists, will enable you to discover a veritable web of underground life. You’ll learn about the multiple and essential ecological roles played by fungi in the health of trees and the balance of ecosystems, including the mycelium that is the hidden face of mushrooms. Identification of these astonishing species is also part of the program. All of which is complemented by a nature walk in idyllic surroundings.
After the workshop, extend your day by exploring the entire Ecomusée site! Free parking is available.
Book now and take advantage of this unique experience! Come and immerse yourself in this invisible universe during this workshop offered by the Écomusée d’Alsace.

Ecomusée d'Alsace
L'ÉCOMUSÉE D'ALSACE, A TRADITIONAL VILLAGE IN THE HEART OF NATURE
--
BUILDINGS & BIODIVERSITY
Today, the Ecomusée d'Alsace consists of a village of 80 buildings representative of Alsace at the beginning of the 20th century, all dismantled from their commune of origin and reassembled in the museum. Around the village, on an area of 97 hectares, you'll find 4 signposted trails to discover biodiversity, as well as agricultural areas in biological transition.
Be curious! Push open the door of each house to discover the treasures it contains: a converted interior, an exhibition, a craftsman's workshop or a stable with animals!

LABEL MUSÉE DE FRANCE
The Ecomusée d'Alsace boasts an exceptional collection of over 40,000 objects, reflecting the daily lives of Alsatians. When the museum was created in 1984, Alsatians became passionate about this adventure and began sending regular donations to the museum.

EVENTS ALL YEAR ROUND
