Guided tour of Château de Taisne
Immerse yourself in the heart of the wine-growing region of the village of Les Riceys, renowned for its three prestigious AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) wines: champagne, vin de coteaux champenois and rosé des Riceys. Here you’ll discover the Château de Ricey-Bas, a listed historic monument and one of the oldest strongholds on the Côte des Bars.
Founded in 1086, it has undergone many transformations over the course of its history and ownership: its story is part of the great history of France. Charles and Ségolène de Taisne, descendants of the family who have occupied the château since 1837, live here with their children, making it a lively and bustling place to live.
The château is open from April 1 to September 30, Monday to Thursday, 12:00 to 19:00, on reservation from April 1 to June 30, and from September 1 to September 30, and exceptionally on weekends. Free access during the summer from July 1 to August 31.
Discover the château’s emblematic sites on a guided tour, which will plunge you into the history of the château and its interiors, including the 16th-century wing currently being restored, renowned for its sumptuous painted decor. You can also explore the magnificent park and its formal gardens on a self-guided tour, which also includes a QR Code enabling you to listen to the history of the château on audio-guide in 6 languages.

The château, which is also part of the Route des Châteaux, hosts a variety of cultural events every year. Concerts, parties and exhibitions are regularly held here. It also hosts weddings on weekends.

REINVENTING CHATEAU LIFE Between Champagne and Burgundy, in the Laignes valley and in the heart of Riceys-Bas, Château de Ricey-Bas, with its formal gardens and over twenty-five hectares of parkland, has been part of France's great history since Robert 1er, Seigneur des Riceys, laid the foundations in 1086... Charles and Ségolène de Taisne are the most recent heirs to this elegant property, which has been in the family since 1837. They will tell you more than anyone else about its 10 centuries of history, handed down from family to family.
