Introductory course in Sashiko embroidery
Treat yourself to a creative interlude with this unique embroidery workshop.
This workshop introduces you to a number of needlework techniques: festoon stitch, post stitch, passe plat, flystitch, stop stitch… All of which will enable you to play with textures, reliefs and fillings to create expressive, structured designs.
You’ll also discover the delicate art of Sashiko, a Japanese embroidery with geometric and repetitive motifs, used to decorate, reinforce or repair fabrics, while cultivating the patience of the gesture.
The last part of the workshop is dedicated to personal creation. Accompanied throughout the process, you’ll design a project in your own image: embroidering a garment, creating an accessory, a brooch or a decorative patch… Each step will be guided, allowing you to give free rein to your desires while learning to master the basics.
The necessary materials are provided on site: training fabrics, threads, needles, scissors. Before the workshop begins, you’ll even receive a few useful tips for choosing a garment or accessory to personalize. It’s a great opportunity to discover traditional craftsmanship in a friendly atmosphere, and leave with a unique, handmade creation. Reserve your place now!
