30th Medieval Festival of Sedan

From May 22nd to 23rd, 2027, the Château Fort de Sedan will open its doors for the 30th Sedan Medieval Festival! Come celebrate together for two days and immerse yourselves in the festive and warm atmosphere of the Middle Ages! The program includes performances, music, camps, refreshment stands, and many other activities... This year, we are focusing on creatures and legends with this theme. Get ready to dive into a world apart! The secret recipe for a weekend out of time, in the age of the knights!

Open to all, the Sedan Medieval Festival brings together in one place the history, atmosphere, and daily life of the medieval period. Step back to the 15th century and transport yourselves into a real period village! As you stroll through the camps, you will discover impressive historical reconstructions, from cooking and blacksmithing to weaving, calligraphy, and weapons. Don’t miss the medieval fencing tournaments that will take place in the moat.

As always, you will find around a hundred merchants, artisans, food stalls, music, and theater performances. Join the taverns to enjoy authentic medieval drinks! Visit the market to find period costumes, jewelry, or wooden toys. Various troupes will animate the castle all weekend with concerts, musical processions, dancing, and artistic demonstrations like illumination and Chinese calligraphy.

Pony rides, workshops, and various initiations will also be part of the program to delight the children. Let them try archery, crossbow shooting, or fencing for a true immersion into history! After a fun and exciting day of activities and training, the festivities will continue into the evening of Saturday with a concert and a fire show in the moat.
