In Sarreguemines, the Auberge Saint Walfrid combines a Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant with a charming 22-room hotel, where Michelin-starred chef Stephan Schneider and his team offer creative cuisine based on local, seasonal produce. The subtly revisited and modernized flavors of traditional Lorraine dishes are perfectly complemented by the many wines from the cellar*. Run by the Schneider family for 5 generations, the Auberge, formerly an outbuilding of the priory run by the monks of Tholey Abbey, is set in a pleasant green setting along the river Sarre. The two dining rooms are decorated with collections of Sarreguemines earthenware and Saint Louis crystal, faithful to the local heritage. On sunny days, enjoy one of the lovely shaded terraces overlooking the wooded park.
