Textile exploration: Vegetable dyeing workshop with an artisan weaver
Plunge into the heart of the Middle Ages and discover the ancestral art of vegetable dyeing! In Fort-Louis, experience a captivating immersion in a reconstructed medieval village and take part in an unusual workshop led by artisan weaver Sarah Soinard.
The experience begins with a 1.5-hour theory session that transports you back in time. You’ll discover how the ancients transformed plant pigments into fabric dyes.
A 30-minute demonstration will then show you how to dye various fibers such as wool, linen and silk. Then, for 3 hours, you’ll pick your own plants and learn how to select and use natural pigments to dye your fabrics.
A detailed guide will be provided so you can continue your experiments at home. So book this workshop now and transform natural raw materials into works of art!
