26th Sedan Medieval Festival: the Festival of Fools

From May 17th to 18th 2025, the Château Fort de Sedan opens its doors to you for the 28th Sedan Medieval Festival! Come and feast together for 2 days, and immerse yourself in the warm, festive atmosphere of the Middle Ages! On the program: shows, music, encampments, refreshment stands and much more… This year, we’re focusing on creatures and legends with this theme. Get ready to plunge into a world of your own! The secret recipe for a timeless weekend in the age of knights!

Open to the general public, the Sedan Medieval Festival brings together in one place the history, atmosphere and daily life of the medieval period. Take a leap back to the 15th century, and transport yourself to a real period village! As you stroll through the campsites, you’ll discover impressive historical reconstructions of cooking, forging, weaving, calligraphy and weapons. Not forgetting the medieval fencing tournaments held in the moat.

Once again this year, you’ll find over a hundred merchants, craftsmen, food stalls, music and theater. Join the taverns for real medieval drinks! Visit the market for costumes, period jewelry and wooden toys. A variety of troupes will be on hand all weekend to entertain visitors to the castle, with concerts, musical processions and dancing, as well as artistic demonstrations such as Chinese calligraphy and illumination.

Pony rides, workshops and various initiations will also be on the program to delight children. Let them try their hand at crossbow, archery or fencing for a true immersion in history! After a great day of fun and training, the festivities continue on Saturday evening with a concert and fireworks show in the moat.
