Make your own stool in wood marquetry

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of marquetry and give free rein to your creativity at this workshop in Jarville-la-Malgrange, just outside Nancy. Whether you’re an avid craftsman or a creative person looking for a new experience, this workshop is for you!

During this 7-hour workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to create a marquetry stool, customized to your taste. Choose from two designs proposed by the workshop to decorate your stool. A selection of suitable veneers is at your disposal to facilitate the process.

You’ll learn how to cut out the various wood elements with a scalpel, then assemble them meticulously to form your decor. Once assembled, you’ll glue your inlaid decoration to the stool seat using an iron, before sanding and applying a finishing wax. The workshop takes place in Nathalie Melon’s workshop at the Cité du Faire, Manufacture de production in Jarville-la-Malgrange.

Marker artist Nathalie Melon will guide and advise you throughout this creative workshop. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, this workshop is open to all levels. It’s also an opportunity to share a moment of conviviality.
