Sports break: 3 days to perfect your open water swimming skills
Want to improve your open water swimming skills? Take part in this exceptional sporting adventure and share intense moments with other enthusiasts! Organized by Les Endurants, these courses focus on 3 key areas: training, skills and health. Whether it’s cycling, running or triathlon, endurance is what they’re all about. Join them and leave with invaluable techniques for perfecting your practice!
Les Endurants’ qualified trainers will help you achieve your sporting goals. With the help of Paul, a specialist in open water swimming, a specific program has been designed for you who want to master this discipline. This course will provide you with the tools to integrate swimming into your triathlon strategy. As a bonus, yoga sessions will help you work on breathing, flexibility and stress management, all crucial elements in optimizing your performance.
So, are you up for the challenge? Put on your cap and wetsuit and start the course on Friday, April 25! You’ll join Paul, your coach, in the early afternoon at the Lido, which will be your base camp for the whole weekend. After an introduction to the course and the principles of open-water safety, you’ll head to the lake for your first session. Situated at the foot of the hotel, the lake offers the perfect setting to get started. Paul will take the time to assess each person’s level, so that we can adjust our progress accordingly. The day will end with a 1h30 yoga session, by the water if possible, before sharing a convivial dinner together.
The following morning, Saturday April 26, the day begins with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a targeted technical session at the pool. Under Paul’s guidance, you’ll work on crucial points like steering and breathing, using the pool as a base to improve your technical skills. After a well-deserved lunch, the afternoon will be devoted to practical exercises in open water, including specific training in steering, buoyancy and drafting. Each swimmer will be corrected individually to help you make personalized progress. At the end of the day, you’ll enjoy another convivial evening over dinner, before returning to your rooms for a restful night’s sleep.
On Sunday April 27, the last day of the course, you’ll start with a final breakfast at the Lido before heading back to the lake. This time, a long outing is planned to put into practice everything you’ve learned. You’ll work at different paces to consolidate what you’ve learned and check that you’ve mastered the techniques. Paul will give you some tips on how to incorporate these new skills into your daily training. After this open-water session, you’ll enjoy a final yoga session by the lake, weather permitting, to relax your muscles and release tension. The morning ends with a convivial lunch at the Lido, bringing this enriching course to a close in the early afternoon.
As the course takes place outdoors, weather conditions may affect the program. If conditions are less than optimal, the supervisor will adjust the activities to ensure the safety and smooth running of the course. In the event of postponement, a new date will be proposed and a refund will be made if you are unable to take part.
