From Chavot-Courcourt to Bergères-lès-Vertus, cross the famous Côte des Blancs between Champagne vineyards and charming villages.
Your next stage begins in Chavot-Courcourt! Head to the middle of the vineyards to discover the church of Saint-Martin. A picnic area overlooking the plain is just a stone's throw away. Perfect for fortifying yourself before hitting the road!
After passing through Monthelon and Morangis, head for the Côte des Blancs. The Côte des Blancs takes its name from the chalk it's made up of, which gives its incomparable aromatic finesse to the Chardonnay that covers a large part of the terroir! After a stopover in Grauves, the first village built into the hillsides of the Côte des Blancs, you enter Cuis between cliffs and pastures. These ancient pastures are one of the most beautiful natural sites in the Marne thanks to their marvellous biodiversity.
A few minutes later, a giant bottle greets you at the entrance to the village of Cramant. Here, be sure to visit the Jardin de vignes panoramic lookout, which offers a breathtaking view of the vineyards and surrounding villages. The Champagne Tourist Route then takes you to Avize, where you can enjoy a bucolic break in the Vix park. Then it's on to the Pâtis d'Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger, classified as a National Nature Reserve. It was here that one of France's largest aquatic beetles was discovered.
The rest of the route takes you through Vertus, where you can admire the church of Saint-Martin and its three crypts, then on to Bergères-lès-Vertus, where your stage ends in style at the summit of Mont Aimé. Here you can enjoy the view over the chalky Champagne region.
