Enjoy the pleasures of water in Gérardmer

Lakes, streams, rivers, waterfalls... In Gérardmer, water is a source of shared pleasure and happiness. Even more so in summer, when it's soothingly cool!

Gérardmer has 3 natural lakes of glacial origin that make up the "Valley of Lakes". At 115.5 hectares, Lac de Gérardmer is the largest natural lake in the Vosges. Here you can enjoy a wide range of water sports, including canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and paddle boarding. On one of the supervised beaches, put your towel down and share some memorable moments with your family. What's on the programme? Sand castles, waterslides, diving boards or sunbathing on the sand.

A few kilometres away, Lac de Longemer, a listed natural site, has a wilder feel than its famous neighbour and can be explored on foot or by pedalo. A little further afield, Lac de Retournemer is the last of the valley's lakes and a pleasant place to take a stroll.

If you prefer a bracing, tumultuous waterfall, you'll be well served by the waterfalls accessible from Gérardmer. They all offer great walks and pleasant cool breaks in summer. Not to be missed are the Charlemagne and Saut des Cuves waterfalls .
