Guided stroll in Champagne – Champagne BARFONTARC
Come and discover the world of vines and wine on a "Guided stroll through Champagne". Maison DE BARFONTARC welcomes you to Baroville to explore its majestic vineyards and discover the work of the vines. An escapade combining escape and discovery, with shared know-how and tastings.
Founded in 1962, the Maison DE BARFONTARC has over 60 years of winemaking experience. Modernity, dynamism and authenticity are the watchwords of the House, whose quest for perfection is reflected in its prestigious cuvées. You'll have a chance to taste some of them at the end of the tour, but in the meantime, let us take you on a fascinating stroll to discover the very essence of this profession: the vine.
Departure is at 9 a.m. for a 45-minute stroll through the heart of the vineyard. Your guide will explain the basics of vineyard work, and tell you about the cultivation techniques adopted by winegrowers according to the season. Ask questions to enrich your knowledge, but also take time to appreciate the landscape. Between vineyards, forests and picturesque villages, the Côte des Bar reveals its unique rural charm.
Return to the cooperative to discover the production facilities. Your host will show you around the presses, vats and cellars, and reveal the secrets behind the production of DE BARFONTARC cuvées.
To round off this winegrowing journey, the House will let you taste 3 of its cuvées, accompanied by local cookies. An opportunity to discover the fruits of a passion and meticulous work, in one of Champagne's most authentic settings.

CHAMPAGNE DE BARFONTARC
In 1962, some fifty winegrowers from the Aube villages of Baroville, Fontaine and Arconville on the Côte des Bar joined forces to create the "Coopérative Vinicole de la Région de Baroville". Initially a pressing center, the Cooperative grew to produce its own brand of champagne, "DE BARFONTARC". Located in Baroville, it still brings together the same winegrowers, who cultivate 112 ha of vines in 7 surrounding villages, and employs around twenty people year-round.
