ALSACE ROCKS! The Tournée des Terroirs celebrates 70 years of the Alsace Wine Route
In 2023, the Alsace Wine Route celebrates its 70th anniversary with a series of exceptional events: tastings, vineyard tours and themed workshops led by passionate winegrowers. It's an opportunity for all visitors to celebrate the richness of Alsace's terroirs and the region's great wines.
Every year, the Alsace Wine Route attracts visitors from all over the world along its 170km of vineyards, picturesque villages and châteaux between Thann south of Colmar and Obernai near Strasbourg. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of this legendary route, ALSACE ROCKS! La Tournée des Terroirs is a great convivial touring festival that will take place every Sunday from 23 April to 30 July 2023.
Discover the secrets of Alsace's great wines
If you're a wine and history lover, come to Alsace for the weekend to take part in themed workshops, visit châteaux and vineyards and meet winegrowers, all in a festive and musical atmosphere.
With 15 stops scheduled, 8 in the Haut-Rhin and 7 in the Bas-Rhin, there's plenty of opportunity to discover the secrets behind the making of Alsace's great wines and taste some of the region's finest vintages. Nearly 150 Alsace wine companies will be on hand to share their expertise and passion. Take advantage of the opportunity to sign up for the themed workshops organised by wine experts and winemakers: Pinot Noir tasting in Dambach-la-Ville, old vintages in Sigolsheim or a stroll through the 3 AOP Alsace Grands Crus in Ribeauvillé. Come and celebrate 70 years of the Alsace Wine Route and let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of the vineyards, the charm of the small villages and the medieval fortresses that dominate the plain.

Whether you're a wine enthusiast or simply curious, these workshops will give you an unforgettable experience by revealing the deep link between vines, people and wine in each of Alsace's 53 wine-producing AOPs. The tastings and in-depth workshops will allow you to delve into different fascinating themes, while the workshops on the move will give you the opportunity to discover the vineyards on foot, by little train or in a horse-drawn carriage. Get ready for an exceptional oenological adventure on the Alsace Wine Route!
Guided walks in the vineyards
While work in the cellar is essential to producing complex, outstanding Alsace wines, it's in the vineyard that the winegrower spends most of his time. Every Sunday in spring and summer, let yourself be carried away by the fresh air and explore the vines alongside passionate winegrowers. Discover the secrets of wine-making, from vine cultivation to bottling, while enjoying the beauty of the surrounding countryside. Vineyards on terraces or on the plain, on the gentle slopes of the hills or the foothills of the Vosges, each plot is unique and forms a patchwork of stunning beauty in summer when the vines are bearing heavy bunches of grapes. Whether it's a demonstration of springtime vineyard work in Nothalten, a discovery of the animals in the vineyards in Molsheim, or a Qi Gong session in the Schlossberg in Kaysersberg, your senses will be on alert under the beautiful Alsatian summer sun.

Relaxation and conviviality
With its traditional cuisine, Michelin-starred restaurants and inventive young chefs, Alsace is a destination where gourmets will feel right at home. At each stage of La Tournée des Terroirs, you'll discover a new selection of Grands Crus & Vins de Terroirs at the ephemeral bar run by winegrowers. The relaxation area, with its tables, deckchairs and picnic area, is the ideal place to treat yourself and discover the region's culinary specialities thanks to food-trucks and stalls that change every week, in a festive and musical atmosphere. You can even sign up for wine-related gourmet activities such as PDO wine and cheese tasting in Orschwiller.
Whether you're a wine novice or an expert, you'll be delighted by this fun and educational experience, which also emphasises the Alsace Wine Route's commitment to sustainability, with concrete actions to minimise the impact of the event: sustainable power supply, promotion of soft mobility, use of recyclable materials, etc.
