The Olympic flame in Alsace
The first stop on the Olympic flame's journey on 26 June was Alsace!
The flame will first pass through Mulhouse and then Colmar. In Mulhouse, immerse yourself in the fascinating world of industrial heritage for which the town known as "La cité du Bollwerk" is famous. In the capital of Alsace wines, stroll through the cobbled streets or cruise the canals of the picturesque Little Venice district. For a 100% sporting holiday (near Paris!), the Alsace Wine Route is also a must for your stay in Colmar! On foot, by bike or by segway, discover the region's symbolic vineyards, with visits to wine cellars and, of course, wine tastings!* It's the perfect way to catch your breath.
End of the Alsatian leg in Strasbourg, one of the Grand Est cities just 2 hours from Paris! While you're in the Alsatian capital to admire the symbol of the Olympics, take the opportunity to enjoy a city trip combining tradition and modernity in the heart of Europe. From Strasbourg's Notre-Dame cathedral to Place Kléber, via the famous Petite France district (a UNESCO World Heritage site!), explore the city through a host of fun activities to stimulate your competitive spirit: segway rides, escape games or even treasure hunts! Or would you prefer to discover Strasbourg on board a boat? Hop on board the Ill, a tributary of the Rhine, and take to the water! Day or night, it's another way of admiring the imperial quarter of the Neustadt, the Palais Rohan and the European Parliament. Don't forget to visit its impressive hemicycle when you disembark!
Art, culture, history and gastronomy - a stay in Alsace promises to be an enriching experience!

The Olympic flame in Moselle
After Strasbourg, the Olympic flame will be heading to Moselle for 6 flamboyant stages on 27 June! And to start with: welcome to Metz, the stopover town! Here, between the banks of the Moselle and the city's treasures of art and history, travellers from all over France can look forward to a fiery city trip! On the programme: a visit to the Centre Pompidou-Metz, a tour of Saint-Étienne cathedral, a walk around Fort Queuleu, or a visit to the Cour d'Or museum. There's plenty to keep your calves in shape for what promises to be a sporty holiday!
Along the way, the torchbearers will also take us to Scy-Chazelles to visit the House of Robert Schuman, a symbolic site of European integration! Speaking of Europe, the torch will cross the Moselle Bridge on its way to Schengen, where the borders of France, Luxembourg and Germany meet. Far from being the only place steeped in history in the département, the Forbach region also invites you to take a trip back in time to the Schlossberg castle, the Petite Rosselle mines and the Parc Explore Wendel.
For a sporting holiday in Moselle, get on your bike and cycle the Voie Bleue from Apach! On your route (and that of the relay runners!), take time to discover the Château des Ducs de Lorraine and the Parc du Haut-Fourneau d'Uckange! The best way to visit the latter? By using your brain in an escape game in the heart of the factory! And don't forget to follow the relay to Thionville to discover the Tour aux Puces museum.
Finally, while the manufacture of the Olympic torch in the Grand Est is an example of the region's exceptional expertise, the Sarreguemines earthenware factory and the Meisenthal International Centre for Glass Art in the Bitche region are other major examples!

The Olympic flame in Champagne
The Olympic flame is making a sparkling arrival in Champagne! And more specifically in the Haute-Marne department on 28 June: the perfect opportunity to spend a holiday surrounded by nature, history... and of course sport! At Lac du Der, just outside Saint-Dizier, the department's new stopover town, you can enjoy a wide range of water sports. Canoeing and kayaking are the perfect way to have a great time!
For 100% relaxation, follow the torch to Bourbonne-les-Bains for a spa break! It's the ideal place to relax on the doorstep of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Finally, those who wish to follow the flame in the footsteps of remembrance should visit the Charles de Gaulle Memorial. It's the perfect place to plunge into the heart of history!
Wine tourism in the Marne! From Reims to Epernay, the Olympic flame will be beaming through the prestigious vineyards of the Champagne region during its journey on 30 June. Take advantage of its passage to push open the doors of some of the area's prestigious wine cellars. While in Reims, be sure to explore its charming city centre: the Notre-Dame de Reims cathedral or the Saint-Rémi museum. InEpernay, let yourself be seduced by the beauty of the Avenue de Champagne!
The department of Aube, meanwhile, is the perfect stop-off point for the Olympic flame on 13 July, but also for organising a visit combining culture, nature and shopping! Troyes, the stopover town, is Europe's city with the most factory outlets. It will also delight heritage lovers with its half-timbered houses, inherited from medieval times! Finally, to make the most of Aube's bucolic natural setting, head to the lakes of the Orient Forest for a thrill-packed experience: water-skiing or windsurfing, which of these disciplines will qualify you for the Games?

The Olympic flame in the Meuse
The last passage of the Olympic flame in the Grand Est region will take place under the sign of remembrance, in the Meuse on June 29. In Verdun, a stopover town but also a place of remembrance, a number of sites marked by French history will offer you a memorable journey: the Verdun Memorial, the Douaumont Ossuary, the underground Citadel and the Bayonet Trench. An emotional visit.
Visiting the Meuse is also about sport! During your stay, you can cycle along the Meuse, with its 443 kilometres of cycle routes along the river! Along the way, you'll discover the Grand Est, home of the Olympic flame, its cultural heritage and unspoilt natural sites.
This warm and surprising region is also the perfect place to get away from it all in the heart of unspoilt nature, but also to get your fill of culture! Like the Olympic flame, take a trip to Bar-le-Duc, Commercy or Lac de Madine. At the citadel of Montmédy, the splendid circuit of the ramparts offers a superb panorama of the surrounding countryside.

The Grand Est, home of the Olympic flame
With the "Land of the 2024 Games" label, the Grand Est region has been chosen to manufacture the Olympic flame for Paris 2024! The torch will be produced at two ArcelorMittal France sites: Florange (rolling mill) and Woippy (cutting plant) in Moselle. A torch made in the Grand Est: a great way to shine a light on the region!
To modernise the Olympic Games, the torch has been given a new lease of life by becoming particularly environmentally friendly! The symbol of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is made from 100% recycled steel with a low carbon footprint. A true testament to the expertise and ecological commitment of the Grand Est region!
