Marathons and sports races: the calendar for the Grand Est region!

The Grand Est region has some great surprises in store for marathon fans! Although 42 kilometres isn't enough to explore all the region's treasures, these different routes will give you a great insight into the beauty of its landscapes! On the programme: discover the famous vineyards of Champagne, stroll along the hillsides of Alsace and explore the cities of Strasbourg and Metz and their exceptional heritage. So, are you up for the challenge?

The Moselle

October - Metz-Mirabelle Marathon

In October, meet contemporary Metz at the Marathon Metz-Mirabelle. Along the way, discover no fewer than 42 historic sites and enjoy a tasting of mirabelles (of course!) to keep your strength up! Along the way, admire the architectural treasures of Metz, including the famous Saint-Étienne de Metz cathedral, and the surrounding villages.

Alsace

May - The Strasbourg races

In May, Strasbourg hosts a range of races open to everyone! Whether you're a Nordic walker or a runner, the event is a great way to get together with family and friends on routes ranging from 5 to over 20 km. A great opportunity to organise a city trip with all the family in Europe's capital, don't you think?

June - Alsace Vineyard Marathon

Every year, at the start of summer, one of the most festive marathons in the Grand Est region is held! Open to everyone, the Alsace Winegrowers' Marathon attracts runners from all over the world for its warm atmosphere, zany fancy dress costumes... and its food and wine relays! Good humour guaranteed!

The Champagne region

October - Run in Reims

Run in Reims is a great way for people of all abilities to get together for a friendly run around the heritage of Reims. On the programme: Notre-Dame de Reims cathedral and its 2,303 statues, the Verzenay lighthouse and, last but not least, the prestigious Champagne vineyards. Runners and supporters alike can admire the postcard-perfect scenery!

June - Lac de Der Marathon

You know the old saying: alone you go faster, together you go further! Whether you're running solo or in a relay, take the time to enjoy the expanse and calm of Lac de Der during this marathon, which is particularly popular in the region! Whatever you decide, there's plenty of entertainment right up to the finish line! Sport, yes, but party time too!

The Ardennes

October - the Sedan-Charleville

Every first Sunday in October, the Association Courir en Ardennes invites you to Sedan for the oldest city-to-city race in France: the Sedan-Charleville. Nearly 5,000 runners take part. Over a distance of around twenty kilometres, the runners pass through a dozen villages as picturesque as they are charming, all along the CD 764. A bucolic marathon, ideal for discovering the Grand Est region in a different way!

Triathlon in the Grand Est: 3 times more fun!

The Grand Est region offers a wide variety of landscapes, making it an ideal playground for triathletes! With its many lakes, long cycle paths and forest trails, it's the perfect place to push your limits and get your adrenalin pumping!

Alsace

July - Elsassman

Triathletes, your July challenge is undoubtedly the Elsassman! Created by a group of enthusiasts, the various races take athletes from the heights of the Vosges to the plains of Alsace. It's an unforgettable panorama of the Grand Est region.

October - Greenman Alsace

In autumn, as the first orange leaves come to light, the Greenman Alsace offers a course that is as close to nature as possible, inviting you to excel on your own or in a relay. After an aquatic loop in the heart of the Gambsheim lake, dry off in the wind as you cross the country paths on mountain bikes or on foot.

The Vosges

September - Gérardmer Triathlon

This autumn, head to Gérardmer, not to put on your skis, but for a triathlon! The famous ski resort nestling in the heart of the Hautes-Vosges is organising its annual competition, offering novices and experienced athletes alike the chance to swim in the largest natural lake in the Vosges... A unique experience!

July - XTerra Xonrupt

In summer, XTerra is back in Xonrupt-Longemer! With a range of courses suitable for young and old alike, you can enjoy a programme packed with Vosges discoveries and physical challenges: swimming in the Lac de Longemer, mountain biking through the forests and striding through the heart of a national forest. A breath of fresh air... and greenery!

Lorraine

September - Light on Tri Madine

If you've got nothing planned for September, add the Light on Tri race to your sporting diary! Near Metz and Nancy, this three-part event highlights the Lorraine Regional Nature Park and its splendid Madine lake, where the first aquatic leg of this triathlon takes place. Light on Tri promotes good humour and a sense of effort in an idyllic setting: the landscapes of Lorraine!
