2 days in Reims: a guaranteed sensory experience!

Kings... and bubbles! To visit Reims is to plunge into the heart of two great histories that have left their mark. From Reims Cathedral to the great Champagne houses, Reims reveals all its assets to wine lovers and connoisseurs alike.

DAY 1 - 10h00

Discovering a world-renowned house

As soon as we arrive, we're in our own bubble, literally! The city of Reims is famous for its world-famous champagne houses. So it's a must to visit one of the most famous houses of this fine bubbly beverage. Ruinart comes to mind, one of the oldest houses founded in 1729 and the city's only UNESCO World Heritage Site! To discover this famous house, you can dive down to a depth of 40 metres into the chalk pits that hold the greatest secrets of this legendary beverage. The 8-kilometre-long labyrinth, adorned in immaculate white and punctuated by surprising works of art, is all you need to know...

12h30

Picnic in the Parc de Champagne

Leave the chalk pits behind and take a breath of fresh air in Reims at the Parc de Champagne, where you can relax in a pleasant, refined setting. The largest park in Reims and a listed Historic Monument, it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a quick lunch! You're bound to find what you're looking for in the nearby grocery shops, where you can pick up a local dish or, for a sweet treat, Reims pink biscuits.

For 1 hour, take in the architectural wonders of Reims city centre, including the Saint-Remi Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A fascinating stroll through art and history!

Le Jardin brasserie Les Crayères

19h00

Dinner at the Brasserie Le Jardin

At the end of the day, we head to the Domaine Les Crayères to join the brasserie Le Jardin. Nestling in the heart of the majestic estate, the restaurant welcomes us in a decor combining steel, stone and brick in homage to the heritage of Reims. The menu is generous and attentive, with the emphasis on the whole product, a choice made by Christophe Moret, a regular at Michelin-starred restaurants. From the perfect egg to beef chuck confit "strogonoff" and roast cod with spicy squid ink sauce, a gustatory voyage is guaranteed!

22h00

Immersive night in the heart of the city

Spend the night at La Caserne Chanzy hotel and spa in the heart of Reims, right in front of the magnificent Notre-Dame cathedral. While the former fire station has been restored to make an exceptional hotel, the walls have retained the soul of this ancient building, particularly through the facade, which has been faithfully restored. You'll discover a room with a modern decor and incomparable comfort: from your king-size bed, you can choose the view you prefer, waking up facing the cathedral, the courtyard or the fine arts museum? The hotel's strategic location in the heart of the city means we're ready to continue our tour of the city in the early hours of the morning!

On this second day, we plunge into the world of delicacies and pleasure with Fossier: a renowned company in Reims, the Fossier biscuit factory was created in 1756. In 1775, the biscuit factory became the official supplier to the King, no less! So we're getting ready to discover all the secrets of 3 centuries of prosperous activity with a more than comprehensive tour. On the programme: a gourmet tour revealing all the secrets of production, a film presenting the House of Fossier and its specialities, and a free tasting of its various products.

14h00

Tour the vineyards in a van!

All aboard for the Champagne vineyards! Climb aboard a van with L'Essentiel Tour for an unusual tour of the hillsides and valleys. Vintage mode on, sunglasses on, our ears open to listen to the anecdotes and comments distilled throughout our excursion. With a stopover in the city's historic centre, the Saint Remi basilica and the not-to-be-missed cathedral are also on the itinerary! At the end of this Champagne road-trip, we'll enjoy a glass of Champagne, savour the famous Reims biscuit and try our hand at sabrage: unforgettable moments that we love to immortalise and, above all, share!
