2 days in Colmar: a colourful getaway!
From the historic district to Little Venice, via the covered market and the must-see museums, we already love everything about Colmar!
DAY 1 - 10.00 am
Face to face with the Collégiale Saint-Martin

As you stroll from the cathedral to the old town, you won't want to miss Colmar's not-to-be-missed landmark: the Collégiale Saint-Martin, the second-largest religious building in Alsace after Strasbourg cathedral! Listed as a historic monument in 1840, its Gothic architecture dating from 1365 is both striking and captivating. As splendid as the exterior is, the interior is no exception. With its stained glass windows, magnificent altarpiece and interior clock, you'll be carried away by the beauty of the place: it's impossible to miss the organ, sublimated by the colourful stained glass windows.

11h00
A stroll through the old town
1,000 years of European history can be told in Colmar's Old Town, which has been listed as a protected area for its rich history and architecture. Entering this district means you don't know when you're going to leave: don't worry, it's just that you love getting lost in the narrow cobbled streets, having fun counting the many colourful half-timbered houses, sniffing out the delicious smells emanating from the restaurants... They're so irresistible that you can't resist the temptation to indulge! Would you rather have traditional sauerkraut or a delicious tarte flambée to share? Our palates are in the balance! A Winstub, the Alsatian restaurant par excellence, will satisfy every craving. Georges Duhamel, the French poet, wrote in 1931 that Colmar was "the most beautiful town in the world"... Can we confirm this?

14h00
Boat trip in Little Venice
Located in the heart of the old town, Little Venice is aptly named: this undeniably charming district owes its fame to the Lauch, a small river that runs through the town and lends the area a picturesque atmosphere. Aboard a flat-bottomed boat, we embark on a peaceful stroll, letting ourselves be carried along by the river's enchanting charm. All along the way, we discover the city's districts from a different perspective, with banks adorned with lush, generous vegetation. Serenity, calm and pleasure are the key words of this unusual visit.
18h00
A relaxing evening in a hotel
After spending the day wandering around, treat yourself to a relaxing evening in a hotel in the heart of Colmar's historic centre. These hotels with their typically Alsatian rooms are real havens of comfort and serenity, where you can fall asleep peacefully. In the morning, we enjoy a delicious and comforting breakfast, the perfect way to get the day off to a good start before embarking on our second day in Colmar - the tour continues!
DAY 2 - 10h00
Visit to the Maison des Têtes and the Maison Pfister
These sublime, authentic historic houses are located in Colmar's old quarter. The Maison Pfister, built in 1537, is one of the oldest and most beautiful half-timbered houses in Colmar: although it has medieval influences, it is one of the earliest examples of Renaissance architecture in the town. It features a wooden gallery, an octagonal turret, a two-storey corner oriel and murals. A few metres further on, you'll see the Maison des Têtes, one of Colmar's best-known buildings. Built in 1609, it was listed as a historic monument in 1889 thanks to its unique façade: 160 small human heads or grotesque masks adorn the building... and do you have a favourite head?!

12h00
Artisan lunch at the Covered Market
Colmar's Marché Couvert is a place where people come together to share their culinary delights! As you stroll around, you'll meet passionate craftsmen and women who put their know-how to good use: market gardeners, butchers, cheesemongers, pork butchers, fishmongers and even pastry bakers - you'll cross paths with around twenty craftsmen and women who cherish mouth-watering products! Stop off at the stall that catches your fancy, then take a seat at one of the market tables to indulge in an explosion of flavours guaranteed!
15h00
Gourmet culture at the Musée du Chocolat
The tasting continues as we head to Place de la Cathédrale to embark on an immersive, gourmet experience: Colmar's Choco Story. Good, comforting, regressive, generous and unifying, chocolate deserves to be in the limelight! In this museum, you can delve into the history of chocolate, meet the chocolate-makers, discover 2-metre-high works of chocolate and make your own chocolate bars before enjoying them with... or without moderation! In this museum, all our senses are awakened, but above all it's our childlike soul that is awakened and lets us imagine the chocolate factory of our dreams...
