One day nature walk with a donkey

Treat yourself to a guided and commented walk with a donkey, that big-hearted companion. You'll enjoy the wonderful scenery between nature and timber-framed villages, and learn lots of anecdotes about donkeys.

Nestled between oak forests and ponds, Lac du Der is a haven of peace, where nature reigns. It's a place to recharge your batteries and take a breath of fresh air. It is also a veritable bird sanctuary. The area is home to many species of birds, which you can observe depending on the season. The region's subsoil of clay, oak and water is ideal for half-timbered or "pan de bois" construction.

A guided walk with commentary lasts between 2h30 and 3h, and is around 7 km long. The topics covered change with the seasons: Ashen crane observation in autumn and late winter, deer and small mammals in spring and summer, heritage and timber-framed churches, history of the Der region. A tasting of regional products will be offered during a welcome break in the hike. The donkey carries snacks and observation equipment, but small children weighing less than 25 kg can climb on its back. Make sure you're well equipped before setting off: hiking boots, walking sticks, small 20-liter backpack, small plastic water bottle or flask, hat or cap, sunglasses, windbreaker or raincoat, camera. Binoculars are also available.
