Camille, an artistic bookbinder in Nancy, offers several workshops where you can explore different bookbinding techniques. In this workshop, she’ll guide you through the “flats-added” method and help you create your own notebook!
Trained in fine bookbinding at the École Tolbiac and holder of the Brevet des Métiers d’Art certification, Camille will introduce you to the bookbinder’s tools and machinery: the paper cutter, the shears, the impact press, the end-gluing vise… You’ll learn how to determine the grain of paper and cardstock, and how to distinguish between different types of leather. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of book assembly techniques. Folding, cutting, punching, sewing, gluing, and binding… will hold no secrets for you!
Camille will guide you and provide all the advice you need to successfully create your own notebook with attached endpapers. With a hardcover and a flexible spine, this notebook will be very useful in your daily life for writing or drawing—and you’ll take pride in having made it yourself! To help you create this unique notebook together, Camille will provide all the necessary tools and materials in her workshop.

Workshops are organized for groups of 2 to 4 people. Open to everyone ages 14 and up.
Expect a small additional charge of a few euros if you choose handmade paper and premium leather.

L'Arbre à Pages - Camille AUBERT
The Atelier-Boutique de Reliure d'Art "L'Arbre à Pages" located in Nancy (5 minutes from the train station) specializes in the design of high-end photo albums and guest books.
Come and meet Camille, who creates real jewel cases for your photographs and tokens of sympathy. In leather, paper or canvas, flexible or rigid, with hot stamping and box on request... Each creation is unique!
Camille also offers all types of bookbinding, traditional or contemporary, as well as a range of stationery (notebooks, sketchbooks, travel journals, notepads...) and cardboard (various boxes & cases, photo holders, chequebook protectors, coasters...) that can be personalized.
Whether it's a one-off or a small series, each request will be the subject of a free study and personalized quotation. All her bindings and boxes are entirely hand-made. Feel free to browse her online boutique, or make an appointment with her for your personal projects.
