Musée Lalique
Opened in July 2011 and located in the village where René Lalique established his glassworks in 1921, the museum aims to showcase Lalique's creation in all its diversity, with an emphasis on glassware.
The museum not only presents exceptional pieces - be it Art Nouveau jewelry, drawings, perfume bottles, tableware, chandeliers, vases - but also allows visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere through large-format photographs and audiovisuals. Thus, for example, the visitor enters the Universal Exhibition of 1900 to see the stand of René Lalique or discovers the Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts of 1925.
Finally, because all these objects would not exist without their know-how, tribute is paid to the women and men who perpetuate the glassmaking tradition. It is possible to discover their work in particular through a tactile table dedicated to the Bacchantes vase which traces the manufacture of this piece created in 1927. From the mold to the finished vase, the visitor can see short films on each step of the process and experience the changes made to the material by touch.
