Experience Buissonnière® Stéphanie and Nicolas whisper in the ears of the mares
Looking for an unusual family experience? Welcome to Nicolas’ farm, in the heart of the Hang clearing, for a magical encounter with horses like no other. We call them Curly. Effective from 5 participants upwards, this activity is offered by the Bruche Valley Tourist Office.
Curly horses, you say? Never heard of them. Well, a century ago, this animal was on the verge of extinction. And even today, it remains unknown to the general public. And yet, and yet… this horse, as mysterious as it is magnificent, will melt your heart. You’ll agree when you visit Nicolas’ farm.
Scheduled every Tuesday afternoon from mid-July to August, this activity is sure to make your day. To begin, you’ll take a stroll with Nicolas, who will tell you all about his beloved clearing. Together, you’ll pick plants that will be used to prepare creams, balms and other body care products.
Back at the farm, you’ll watch the mares being milked and be invited to taste their milk. This precious beverage is excellent for your health, thanks to its many virtues. Very similar to mother’s milk, mare’s milk is nutritious, more digestible than cow’s milk and good for the skin. In fact, Nicolas uses it to make soap, and will reveal the secrets of its manufacture. As you can see, this is an experience not to be missed!

Office de Tourisme de la vallée de la Bruche
Just 45 minutes west of the Alsace metropolis, the Bruche valley stretches from the foothills in the heart of the Massif des Vosges to the borders of Lorraine. Bordered by the highest peaks in the Lower Rhine, the valley combines forest massifs, medium-altitude pastures and high stubble fields.
The valley is crossed by the Bruche river, a natural "link" between the sandstone and granite Vosges, from which it takes its name.
An unusual feature of the Alsatian landscape, the Bruche valley, with its Vosges-style appearance and ancient French-speaking tradition, is nonetheless proud of its art of living, which says it all about being Alsace!
