Le Vaisseau
For over 15 years, Le Vaisseau has been offering children aged 3 to 12 (and the adults who accompany them) activities, exhibitions, workshops and courses to help them understand science while having fun. The concept of this establishment of the Collectivité européenne d'Alsace is based on a simple idea: children are more interested in science if it's presented in a playful way. A wide range of scientific mediation techniques are used, so that all visitors can find the one that's right for them:
Human mediation: a team of animators is permanently present in the exhibitions. They offer "flash" activities.
They are divided between the Garden (to explore and discover the plants and small animals that surround us, such as bees), Human beings (children discover the human body), I build (building is to approach techniques that are very useful in everyday life), The Forest (where children work on their logical thinking and solve mathematical riddles), Animals (including the ant farm to observe the life of these insects), The Oasis (to learn about the physical properties of liquids), The Nursery (a space where children cultivate creativity) and The Cave to explore the properties of light.
Films and shows: with their inspiring stories, they give visitors a new perspective on the world around them.
Event exhibitions: presented over several months, these offer an original exploration of the world of science and technology.
