Located in Mulhouse, Alsace, the Musée National de l'Automobile -Collection Schlumpf is the place to be for car enthusiasts. You'll plunge into the heart of the automotive world, from its birth to the present day.
The Musée National de l'Automobile in Mulhouse is one of the most prestigious museums in the world. This majestic edifice will surprise you at first glance with its entrance, adorned by a garland of cars suspended several meters from the ground. Behind its imposing doors, projections of cars move with your steps and accompany you to the next space. A richly immersive experience awaits you from the moment you arrive!
The museum invites you to discover the history of the automobile in its "Adventure" area, which covers almost 17,000 m² and features 243 flagship models. These are displayed chronologically in an area decorated with attractive lampposts. The "Ancestors" section features cars of yesteryear, with Peugeots, Benzes and Panhards lining the aisle. The "Moderns" include cars released after 1945. And the "Classics" bring together cars from between these two eras, including Citroën's famous Traction Avant, an emblematic 1934 model.
An area is also dedicated to motor racing. Here you'll discover a fine collection of sports cars including the Mercedes W125, the Lotus type 33 and the famous Bugatti type 32, among others. A few steps away, step back in time to the 30s and enjoy a collection of the 80 most beautiful cars of the era in the "Masterpieces" area. And finally, head to the area dedicated to the timeless Bugatti Veyron. The museum offers a spectacular presentation of this luxurious car.
The Musée National de l'Automobile is accessible to all ages. A variety of interactive activities are offered on site. Fun workshops, immersive experiences, discovery activities: there's something for everyone. In addition, the museum offers special collections to entertain young and old alike during a family visit.
