Rodrigo, an artist’s life exhibition
Discover an exceptional exhibition in Reims dedicated to Rodrigo Salgado, a singular artist whose universe both upsets and fascinates. Paintings, sculptures and contemporary stained-glass windows come together in a unique setting, revealing the creative power of this artist with Down’s syndrome.
Supported by his parents, Lélia Wanick Salgado and renowned photographer Sebastião Salgado, this exhibition pays tribute to Rodrigo’s sensitivity and expressive power. More than a simple presentation of works, it is an intimate journey into the imagination of a deeply sincere creator.
The exhibition takes place in a place steeped in history: the former Sacré-Cœur church in Reims, now occupied by the Simon-Marq stained-glass workshop. 16 of Rodrigo’s drawings have been sublimated into stained-glass windows, projecting a striking light into the heart of the nave.
Through 80 paintings and several sculptures, you’ll plunge into a singular artistic universe, between raw emotion and poetic beauty. The rare and moving scenography highlights each work, letting the light reveal the full depth of its artistic gesture.
A must-see cultural experience, accessible to all, blending contemporary art and heritage with depth and sensitivity.
