Discover the secrets behind Troyes’ street names on a guided walk through the heart of the city! Follow in the footsteps of the past, from the Middle Ages to the present day, and discover how streets have been named and renamed over the ages.

Every street in Troyes tells its own story. In the Middle Ages, inhabitants named streets according to distinct functional, topographical or social characteristics. Over time, some streets were named after illustrious figures such as Zola, Poincaré, Clemenceau or de Gaulle. During this 45-minute walk, guided by an expert, you’ll explore the streets of the city’s historic heart and discover the origins and meanings of these names.

Scheduled for 3 p.m., the tour is preceded by a first session at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, available on reservation. The activity is suitable for everyone aged 6 and over, with a maximum of 35 adults per group. To optimize organization, we recommend that you arrive at the meeting point 10 minutes before the start of the tour, armed with your electronic tickets.
