You’ll be captivated as you pass the birthplace of Alexandre Chatrian, a famous 19th-century French writer, before reaching the picturesque hamlet of Le Grand Soldat. Here, you’ll discover an authentic Haut Fer sawmill, where the clatter of wood and the squeak of the bucket wheel recall the flourishing activity of the time.

This journey through time includes a train ride, followed by a fascinating tour of the old Haut Fer sawmill. For around 1h30, you’ll be immersed in the heart of the Donon massif, a place where nature’s tranquillity is at its best.
