Day trip to the vineyards and wines of Alsace
Take an excursion through the vast vineyards of Alsace and taste local wines. Learn the difference between notes and aromas, compare the taste of local products and stop off at the most beautiful medieval villages. This day promises to be rich in discovery and gourmet delights.
Departing from Strasbourg, the day tour of Alsace vineyards and wines takes you on a journey of discovery through a land of colors and flavors. Following the famous Route des Vins d'Alsace, you'll stop off at 3 wine destinations to visit their cellars and stop off in authentic villages to enjoy the local atmosphere.
-First stop: Mittelbergheim / Barr. Here, Grand Cru enthusiasts will find what they're looking for. Zotzenberg, Kastelberg, Wiebelsberg and Kirchberg make up the commune's reputation. Thanks to soil favorable to the Riesling grape, the vineyards produce a prestigious selection of white wines such as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Sylvaner. This first stop promotes the culture and know-how of local wineries, and is enhanced by a moderate tasting of vintages.
-Second stop: Dambach La Ville. Enjoy the atypical charm of this destination, as a second wine tasting is scheduled in a "caveau" housing the famous Frankstein Grand Cru. During this visit, try your hand at "Crémant d'Alsace" and feel the effervescence of the bubbles.
-Third stop: Ribeauvillé / Riquewihr. Free time for lunch, choose your inn and enjoy a hearty lunch of Alsatian specialities in this charming village. Afterwards, visit a famous winery belonging to the Trimbach or Hugel families, and discover the secrets of the exceptional Pinot Gris, Muscat and Gewürztraminer grape varieties. Taste, in moderation, Geisberg, Kirchberg, Osterberg, Schoenenbourg and Sporen.
At every stop, the scenery is postcard-perfect. Enchanting for those who love a good snapshot. Keep a visual memory of this superb excursion, as there will be time for photo breaks. In the afternoon, we'll be talking about wine and food pairing.
