Enjoy a morning’s adventure in the midst of lush greenery and granite chaos. This nature escapade offers you almost 6 km of forest and mountain trails.

Starting at 9:00 am from the Col du Petit Ballon, follow the Petit Ballon hiking trails. Your first stop is the heart of the Wasserbourg forest. Alexandre Troesch, your expert guide, will be sure to offer you a wealth of commentary on this local heritage.

After this initial traverse, you’ll begin the ascent of the ridges leading to Steinberg. The climb involves a 300 m ascent. The stone mountain culminates at an altitude of 1,177 m, offering an exceptional panorama. From the top of its granite peak, you’ll enjoy magnificent views over the villages of the Munster valley.

This hiking trail will allow you to recharge your batteries in one of the Vosges’ famous energy hotspots. Steinberg was once dedicated to the Celtic rites of Belenos, the sun god. You’ll enjoy a change of scenery in the midst of numerous natural menhirs and megalithic heaps.
