Have you ever visited the cellar of an Alsatian winery? A mysterious place, where each barrel contains the history of several centuries of work. If you want to discover these secrets, the Maison ZEYSSOLFF in Gertwiller invites you to an immersive visit in its cellars. A fascinating 2.5 hour journey awaits you!
Entering the cellar of the Maison ZEYSSOLFF is like entering a world apart. Like the masters of the place, twenty or so giant barrels give you a warm welcome. One barrel stands out from the others, the one called ZEYSSOLFF. Dating from 1897, this barrel is still used today to make the famous Pinot Gris of the House.
Each of these casks was made of hundred-year-old oak and has a capacity of 10,000 liters. Their stories, but especially those of the beverages they contain, will be told to you during your visit.
In order to immerse you totally in this universe, the House of ZEYSSOLFF has planned a 180° film on its history and working philosophy. The barrels will serve as a projection wall, and with mapping sequences, you will be offered a real virtual journey.
Since its organic conversion in 2018, Maison ZEYSSOLFF prides itself on creating new human and sensory experiences for its visitors. In particular, a commented tasting of 5 wines, followed by an Alsatian meal will be on the agenda, with, on the menu:
– A cup of soup ;
– Meat pie and Riesling, accompanied by raw vegetables;
– Alsatian cottage cheese (kougelhopf and biebelaskaas).
As a bonus, the meal will be accompanied by a glass of wine from the House for a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Maison ZEYSSOLFF
The ZEYSSOLFF family's presence in Alsace dates back to the 15th century. In 1778, Jean-Daniel ZEYSSOLFF, a winegrower in Gertwiller, in the heart of Alsace's vineyards, founded Maison ZEYSSOLFF. Since then, the tradition of vines and wine has been handed down from father to son for ten generations. All the grape varieties of Alsace are offered by Maison ZEYSSOLFF. In 1997, Yvan ZEYSSOLFF took over the family business.
The estate has been in organic conversion since 2018. For the past ten years, Maison ZEYSSOLFF has focused on wine tourism, opening its "Au Péché Vigneron" boutique beneath the family home. The boutique was completely redesigned and adapted to the public and the environment in 2015. In 2020, complete renovation of the tuns cellar, creation of a new vat room and installation of a scenographic area with 180° immersive video.
Maison ZEYSSOLFF also features a dining bar, a tea room, a delicatessen store, a sensory area and numerous wine-tourism activities for young and old alike.
