Parenthèse Vigneronne – Kaefferkopf : stories to drink
Ammerschwihr is the ideal place for a little getaway. As well as being a place rich in history, the little commune near Colmar is renowned for the quality of its wines, especially the famous Kaefferkopf. In the mood for escape and discovery? La parenthèse vigneronne combines sightseeing and wine-tasting during the « Kaefferkopf: stories to drink » workshop.
For 2 hours, you’ll be in the hands of Francis Klee, an oenologist from the Kuehn estate and a true enthusiast of nature and history. To begin with, he’ll take you on a tour of the town. He’ll tell you all about the history of the town, which was largely destroyed during the last war, then rebuilt, and still bears many traces of its past. As you wander through the narrow streets of the winegrowing town, Francis will share with you the stories and anecdotes of Ammerschwihr.
Once at the estate, he’ll take you 7 meters underground to the famous Cave de l’enfer. Descending the staircase, you’ll come to the beautiful vaulted cellars that were used to shelter the inhabitants during the Second World War. Here, amid 45 century-old oak foudres, Francis will offer you a candlelight tasting. Experience an exceptional tasting in this setting steeped in history.

OFFICE DE TOURISME VALLEE DE KAYSERSBERG
Once upon a time, there was our beautiful Kaysersberg Valley...
It stretches from the Alsace plain and the wine route to the Lac Blanc resort at the gateway to the Route des Crêtes. From wine-growing towns in the lower valley to mountain villages in the upper, this is a land of great diversity, shaped by its landscapes! On the vineyard side, you'll find picturesque Alsatian villages like Ammerschwihr, Katzenthal and Kaysersberg Vignoble.
The upper valley, on the mountain side, abounds with farms, inns and hamlets where Vosges cows graze in the mountain villages of Fréland, Labaroche, Lapoutroie, Orbey and Le Bonhomme. There are many hiking trails between ridges, stubble fields and mountain lakes, on foot or mountain bike, to suit all tastes. In winter, several kilometers of downhill and cross-country ski slopes at the Lac Blanc ski resort allow sports enthusiasts to enjoy the benefits of the mountains to the full!
An unforgettable holiday!
