Tasting: “Champagne & Cheese” workshop
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of oenology with the « Champagnes & Fromages » workshop offered by Champagnes Alfred Gratien and MOF cheesemaker François Robin! The Maison welcomes you to Épernay for a delightful journey through its age-old cellar and chalk cellars, 18 m below ground, housing almost a million bottles.
Since its foundation in Épernay in 1864, the Alfred Gratien estate has been guided by an unbroken line of cellar masters. Faithful to artisanal know-how handed down through 4 generations, they favor rigorous grape selection, respect for terroirs, vinification in oak barrels and limited production quantities. Nicolas Jaeger, current cellar master, brilliantly embodies the continuity of this philosophy.
The « Champagnes & Fromages » workshop is a unique experience designed for food and wine pairing enthusiasts. The collaboration between Nicolas Jaeger, Cellar Master, and François Robin, one of France’s best cheese makers, invites you to a true sensory exploration.
The aim is to reveal the aromatic dimensions of each champagne by associating it with the cheese that enhances its characteristics. This approach has enabled us to discover the similarities between the great tradition of Champagne wine and that of cheese, where know-how has been handed down from generation to generation.
The activity is accessible to people with reduced mobility, with free parking and a charging station available to visitors. Don’t wait any longer to experience this enriching oenological adventure! Book now!

CHAMPAGNE ALFRED GRATIEN
The Alfred Gratien Champagne House was founded in Epernay in 1864. For four generations, the same lineage of Cellar Masters has perpetuated and passed on an artisanal know-how: rigorous selection of grapes from the best vintages, respect for the terroirs, vinification in small oak barrels and limited production volumes. Today, the Cellar Master Nicolas Jaeger, signs the style of the Alfred Gratien house and ensures the continuity of its philosophy.
Through a wine tour, La Maison Alfred Gratien opens the doors of its hundred-year-old cellar and its cellars dug into the chalk, 18 meters underground, where nearly a million bottles are kept.
