Visit to La Cave aux Coquillages with tasting of Champagne Legrand-Latour
In the heart of Champagne’s vineyards, La Cave aux Coquillages invites you on an unusual tour of a wine-growing region and a geological treasure trove. Nestled beneath the vines, this unique cellar plunges you into a 45-million-year-old past, when a tropical sea still covered the region.
Accompanied by an enthusiastic guide, you’ll explore over 500 meters of galleries carved out of the Lutetian rock. Here you’ll discover thousands of perfectly preserved fossilized shells, veritable witnesses to a fascinating natural heritage. This extraordinary setting will also show you the incredible influence of the soil on champagne aromas.
The visit continues with a tasting of biodynamic cuvées, produced by a family of winegrowers for four generations. Through this sensory experience, you’ll be introduced to oeno-geology: the art of understanding the link between earth and wine.
Book your visit and let yourself be surprised by a unique encounter between the marine world and the art of champagne, in an unforgettable setting!

Exceptionally well-preserved fossils from this period, for which the area is famous, have been set in their natural context and presented along a trail of underground galleries.
