Guided tour of the Fort de Vaux by car
Set off in your own car to discover the key sites of the First World War. It’s June 1916, and German forces are laying siege to Fort de Vaux. Take a trip back in time to the darkest hours of the French Resistance, with a visit to the galleries.
The tour then follows in the footsteps of Fleury, a village of 420 souls that was wiped off the map during the battle.
At the end of your tour, you can wander through the Douaumont cloister, one of France’s largest ossuaries, in which the remains of 130,000 anonymous combatants are laid to rest.
Participants must use their own vehicles to reach the various points.
