Guided tour Treasures of our land: The Templar chapel at Libdeau
Nestled in the heart of the countryside, the Templar chapel at Libdeau is a real treasure of Lorraine’s heritage. This once-threatened building is now enjoying a new lease of life, thanks to the commitment of the association, which has been working to restore it for several years.
Templar commandery chapels are rare in Lorraine, and the one at Libdeau is the only one to have preserved its vaults. Its Gothic architecture is relatively well-preserved, despite alterations made during the French Revolution. Traces of its 13th-century decoration give an idea of what it will look like once restored.
Come and discover this remarkable heritage and immerse yourself in 800 years of history during a rich and fascinating guided tour led by members of the association.
