Visit to Fort de Mutzig
Passionate about history and enriching discoveries? Come and discover the fortifications of Fort de Mutzig, a masterpiece unique in Europe!Accompanied by a guide, you’ll be free to explore this imposing fortress, the result of 25 years of intensive construction work, from 1893 to 1918.
Covering an area of 254 ha, Fort de Mutzig could house up to 7,000 soldiers. With around 50 buildings and 22 heavy cannons, this modern fortification was the first to incorporate electricity, concrete and steel armour, marking a significant technological advance of the time.
The ticket includes admission to the fortress and a self-guided tour with a 12-page brochure, available in French, German and English. Admission is free for children under 6, and no ticket is required. Please note that the inside temperature varies between 11° and 12° throughout the year, so bring warm clothing even in summer!
