Animal park of Sainte-Croix
120 hectares of greenery to meet rare and emblematic animals: that’s the promise of the Sainte Croix Wildlife Park. Let’s head off for a day in the wild with the whole family!
Set in an area of unspoilt nature, the park specializes in European fauna. It is home to over 1,500 animals living in semi-liberty, including 100 endangered species. The Sainte-Croix wildlife park is also a conservatory for endangered species, and is involved in a number of programs to reintroduce young animals into the wild.
The park’s various themed trails offer unique animal encounters.
Have you always dreamed of taking a safari into unknown lands? Get your adrenalin pumping on Expedition Sauvage! On a Safari-train, you’ll encounter wolves, bison, Scottish cows, cormorants, pelicans, aurochs, tarpan horses and elk.
The wide-open spaces of the Deer Plain will give you the chance to observe the deer. And why not come and admire the impressive spectacle of the brame in autumn?
With Le Voyage de Néo: Mission Biodiversité, there are 8 challenges to take up! Barefoot trails, dugout canoe trips, dead-end labyrinths: fun and educational missions await young and old alike, to help them better understand today’s environmental challenges. And, of course, you’ll find iconic animals. Among the most popular (and cute) are red pandas and lemurs.
Then it’s on to North America’s great outdoors with the New World! This 8.5-hectare green setting is home to species from across the Atlantic: black bears, American bison, coyotes and prairie dogs.
At Parc de Sainte Croix, you can also observe Europe’s 4 largest carnivores – the gray wolf, the northern lynx, the wolverine and the brown bear – at close quarters (and in complete safety). An entire trail is dedicated to this endangered animal.
And why not extend the experience by spending a night close to the animals?
