Snowshoe walk with picnic
Put on your snowshoes and join Destination Sport Nature for an exciting adventure in the heart of the snow-covered Vosges! Accompanied by a professional and passionate guide, you’ll discover the unique beauty of this natural heritage. The team will prepare a delicious picnic for you to enjoy amidst the magnificent winter scenery.
There are 2 itineraries to choose from. Discover Lac Blanc, an enchanting place magnificently dressed in its white coat. Or let yourself be tempted by the stubble fields of the Hohneck, where the vast expanses of snow promise breathtaking panoramas.
For your day at Lac Blanc, meet at Col de la Schlucht, in front of the Le Tétras building. Your state-certified guide will meet you there to fit out your equipment and introduce you to the route. From the Lac Blanc station, you’ll head for the thatch-covered ridges to discover their flora, unique in Europe. Contemplate the panoramic view over the Weiss valley, then make your way to the Lac Blanc spring. Enjoy a hot drink at the lookout near Château du Hans, before a peaceful descent back to the starting point.
For the second option, meet your guide in front of the auberge des crêtes at Col du Calvaire. After the briefing, set off from the Col de la Schlucht towards the summit of the Vosges. Up there, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Alsace plain, the Black Forest and, on a clear day, the Alps. Cross the Trois Fours thatch and the Martinswand rocks and enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Frankenthal glacial cirque. Explore the alpine trails of the Hohneck massif, surrounded by waterfalls and glacial lakes. The descent then takes you through a beech-fir forest, with sublime views over Lac de Longemer.
Whatever your choice, each snowshoe walk starts with a minimum of 4 participants. The walk lasts around 2 hours, and you’ll be provided with all the necessary equipment (snowshoes and poles), as well as a picnic lunch.
This activity is accessible to all levels, but is not recommended for people with heart problems or reduced mobility. Free parking is available for your convenience. Book your place now and come and enjoy this memorable experience in the heart of the Vosges winter landscape!
