Looking for adventure in the great outdoors? Destination Sport Nature invites you to spend a day on snowshoes, discovering the snow-covered landscapes of the Vosges mountains in Alsace! Accompanied by a passionate and experienced guide, you’ll discover the splendor and secrets of this exceptional natural heritage. The whole experience is enhanced by a gourmet break, with a picnic carefully prepared by the team.
Destination Sport Nature offers you a choice of 2 itineraries for your walk: discover Lac Blanc or the Hohneck stubble fields. Explore Lac Blanc, starting your adventure at Col de la Schlucht, in front of Le Tétras. A state-certified guide will welcome you for a full briefing and equip you with snowshoes and poles. From the Lac Blanc station, you’ll climb to ridges dotted with thatch, home to a unique flora. Admire the panoramic view over the Weiss valley, before reaching the source of Lac Blanc. Near Château du Hans, enjoy a break with a hot drink, while contemplating the view from the belvedere. Your return journey will take you through a forest of fir trees, bringing this magnificent excursion to a gentle close.
If you’d prefer to explore the Hohneck thatches, head for the Col du Calvaire, near the Auberge des Crêtes, to begin your adventure. After the briefing, your guide will take you from the Col de la Schlucht to the highest peak in the Vosges. From here, admire the Alsace plain, the Black Forest and, on a clear day, the Alps in the distance. Then cross the varied landscapes of the Trois Fours and Martinswand rocks, and admire the Frankenthal glacial cirque. Along the way, explore forest trails near the Hohneck and finish your descent with a magnificent view of Lac de Longemer.
This tour is suitable for all adult adventure-seekers, whatever their level. The experience lasts around 6h30 to 7h, and includes professional supervision, a snack and picnic, as well as the necessary equipment (snowshoes and poles).
