Restaurant Au Vieux Couvent
Explore the authenticity of Alsatian flavors, and take a seat at the table of the Old Convent! Nestled in Rhinau, between Strasbourg and Colmar, this gastronomic restaurant invites you to a gustatory experience in the heart of tradition. A gourmet rendezvous refreshed according to the seasons, to be enjoyed in a bucolic setting that is both elegant and warm!
It is in the heart of the rural landscapes of the Bas-Rhin, between wooded banks and river, that the restaurant Au Vieux Couvent welcomes you for this unique culinary journey. Combining modernity and gentleness, the decor of the place says a lot about the generosity of its cuisine. An inventive cuisine inspired by Alsatian traditions, which Chef Alexis Albrecht does not hesitate to explore and personalize according to his aspirations.
Michelin-starred for over 30 years, the restaurant stands out for its modern innkeeper’s soul. The focus is on the freshness of local products, with an emphasis on plants. Flowers, rare plants and vegetables from the family garden are added to the local fish and game. All of this is enhanced by the modern touches of the starred chef.
The result is a regularly renewed menu, with – each time – new flavors to explore. Discover or rediscover them for yourself, and reserve your table for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is open every day of the week, except Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

SARL AU VIEUX COUVENT
gastronomic restaurant located near the flowery banks of the Brunnwasser: On the plate, we enjoy the work of Alexis Albrecht, who has worked in the best restaurants (at the Crocodile, at the Pourcel brothers and at Jacques Maximin). His cuisine is generous and respectful of the seasons. He works with local producers such as the Coccinelle farm in Witternheim and the Riedwasen farm in Sélestat. Thus, the fish of the Rhine and the game of the Ried are at home here... without forgetting the numerous vegetables and other aromatic herbs of the family garden that he cultivates with his father and that nature gives us.
