The age-old torchlight procession

A few kilometres from Nancy, the Saint-Nicolas-de-Port Basilica is the setting for a centuries-old tradition. As night falls on Saturday 9 December, inhabitants and visitors from far away pace through the Basilica, their way lit only by their candles, and sing the song dedicated to Saint Nicolas. A tradition still very much alive as this year will mark the 777th torchlight procession. A unique, heart-warming experience.
