Follow in the footsteps of history at Dormans! In the heart of the Côte des Blancs, this stage is the perfect opportunity to take in the culture (and nature) of the Champagne region.

After stopping off at Vandières, Verneuil and Vincelles, take the road to Dormans. Nestling in the heart of the Marne Valley, this flower-filled town is a veritable treasure trove of history. Start your visit near the 14th-century Château and its vast 25-hectare park. This is the former home of La Rochefoucauld. As you stroll around the estate, you'll come across the Memorial to the Battles of the Marne, the mill and its Champagne tool shed, and a conservatory orchard.

Along the way, don't miss a visit to the Dormans Memorial, a powerful commemoration of the Great War. Overlooking the Marne Valley, it offers a unique view of the battlefield, which today lies at the heart of the Champagne vineyards. Crypt, ossuary, cloister or chapel with magnificent stained glass windows, each place is dedicated to remembrance and meditation.

Last but not least, if you've thought about fitting your bike rack to your car, you should know that your bikes will come in handy on the 52 cycle route. Starting in Dormans, this route follows the Canal Latéral à la Marne as far as Vitry-le-François. On the programme: a breathtaking view of the Champagne hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Montagne de Reims nature park.
