Once upon a time, this immense 35,000 m² fortress was built on a promontory on the banks of an equally majestic river, the Meuse. Equipped with mighty walls, it housed magnificent artillery pieces and feasted on golden tableware. Built almost 600 years ago, this jewel of medieval architecture was once the residence of the Princes of Sedan.

Today, this monumental edifice offers 52 rooms and suites to visitors to one of France’s most beautiful Villes d’Art et d’Histoire. The former boast a breathtaking view of the château’s imposing courtyard, while the latter have a commanding position overlooking the town. Each room is carefully decorated and perfectly equipped: here, modern comfort rhymes with respect for tradition.

The Château Fort Sedan**** has two restaurants. For a quiet, sumptuous candlelit dinner in the “La Principauté” restaurant, Chef OLIVOT concocts delicious dishes using fresh, seasonal produce. For lunch, you can head to the “Midi au Château” restaurant, where the chef’s team serves elaborate brasserie cuisine à la minute.
